Having a career in TV is much more than just being on-screen. We have been working our butts off since our launch, and some of us at The Red Carpet Academy – Steve Milne, Cindy Humphrey, Emily De Cosimo and myself – hooked up recently for a “power lunch”. We are working on some exciting new projects to be announced really soon.
Finally, our hectic schedules allowed us to get together over some mouth-watering italian food at, one of my fave London eateries “40 Dean Street”. In true Aussie fashion, Steve stuck to his roots by ordering a baby “chuck” along with spaghetti. Emily our English rose, opted for a beautifully crafted Italian salad, whilst Cindy and her model bod, didn’t think twice tucking into the lamb. I ordered my usual mushroom gnocchi, which melts in your mouth and comes highly recommended!
After we ate, we put the ‘Power’ into our power lunch. As creatives, we love a good meeting of the minds, to brainstorm new ideas and to collate many of our trade secrets to share with you for the very first time. We are also prepping to work within various communities across the UK by collaborating with not-for-profit organisations. There are so many inspirational projects for young people to get involved in. Many of these are tirelessly run by charities and social enterprises across Britain, and we always love a good cause!
It is really important for us to use our skills to help the next generation of those striving for careers in media and more specifically, TV Presenting and Public Speaking. We firmly believe in sharing our skills with young people in need, and hope to have a positive impact in the community.
If you are a not-for-profit organisation, charity or a social enterprise, get in touch with us, we’d love to work with you!
Also, we are working to bring you The Red Carpet Academy ‘Taster Day’! Our exclusive Taster Days will offer an opportunity to experience some of the skills required to become a good TV Presenter. Each month there will only be a small number of these FREE workshops available. If you can secure your place and stand out amongst the competition you will be invited to join The Red Carpet Academy Bootcamp. Here, we will provide an intensive crash course in skill building and plenty of practical on-camera opportunities. Our aim for our Bootcamp is to provide an overview of pretty much all you should know to start your career as a telly host. Make sure you’re on our mailing list and a regular reader of our blog to keep up to date with the latest news on our next Taster Day workshops.
Until next time, folks!
